Syntes generelt det er upassende at sende sådan et spørgeskema ud, vel vidende fra Apollo’s side at vi har været spærret inde i denne corona tid. Bestemt ikke den ferie vi så frem til, kun ekstremt glade for at være hjemme igen.

Flot hotel og sødt restaurantpersonale. Lækker buffet i restauranten.

Stort poolområde var under renovering, så det var ikke specielt småbørnsvenligt i perioden, og mange aktiviteter var desværre aflyst. Personalet i receptionen var ikke så imødekommende eller informative. La Nonna-restauranten, som vi fik en gratis aftensmad på, var ikke gearet til børn, så en ellers dejlig madoplevelse blev en smule stressende.

Nice hotel but a few changes needed.

Just returned home from this hotel after being changed to here because our original hotel was closed, this was done 2 days before we were ready to travel so never got to do much research into things such as location etc. First impressions of hotel is lovely, very modern and rooms were good. Pools were good and we enjoyed the comfy beds that were around the pool. Hotel is about a 20 minute walk down to Playa Blanca Marina which was a nice walk and never bothered us and 15 minutes to Playa Flamingo beach which is stunning. The food at the hotel was nice enough and there was always something to eat however lunch and dinner were always very similar so we did eat out a couple of nights to get something different. One day we didn’t want to go for lunch in restaurant so decided we would use the snack bar menu QR code at the pool bar to order something instead but we were then told this is not available , so feel like this menu should not be advertised if not available? In addition to this, we found pool side snacks were very poor but obviously are understanding this may be due to current circumstances. Another downfall we experienced here was Customer Service from one of the gentlemen working in the Lobby Bar, the sheet you get at check in stated that the bar opening times are (18.00 - 00.00) but this is not the case the bar shut at 11.30pm every night which was fine, however on the Friday night we were sitting in the bar and were told around 11.15pm we had to go outside now to the terrace which we were fine with as it gave the gentlemen time to tidy up. So I went to the bar at 11.20pm to get a last drink to take outside with me, at this point the man working flung down his notepad he was holding and seemed annoyed and also rolled his eyes at me, I found this absolutely shocking to see as I work within Customer Service myself and would never think of acting like this to someone. If the bar doesn’t close until 11.30pm what was the problem? The next morning I spoke to the Bar/Restaurant Manager at breakfast and told him about what happened the previous night and he couldn’t seem to care less about it and just stated to me that the bar does close at 11.30pm (maybe information sheet should be updated) hence the fact I am writing it here as this was totally unacceptable and it wasn’t just me this had happened too, I heard complaints from other guests also. The next night was our last night and we decided to go out as the same guy was working in the bar and we didn’t want to experience the same service again. The rest of the staff we encountered could not have been any nicer and they all work really hard. Evening entertainment was ok but nothing on a Friday/Saturday night which we found strange. All in all, hotel was very pleasant to stay in and a good location.

Beautiful but COVID limitations

Rooms lovely, comfortable. Grounds absolutely pristine and beautiful. The swimming pools were fantastic. My children loved the water slides and the children’s pool looked fab for younger children. Much of the hotel was closed. By the end of our week there were probably only about 30 guests. As a result the food choices diminished each day. Lunch and dinner were indistinguishable - same food at each. (But I do understand why). The food was nice enough just very limited (if you didn’t like fish or pork then tough luck) and the deserts were amazing. 5 mins walk from Aqualava water park - we went twice. Both times from 2-5pm on the half day ticket. 10 mins walk to a Playa Flamingo which I think is the nicest beach. 20 mins to Play Blanca and 30 mins to Playa Dorado. All in Playa Blanca is a nice town. It’s a well located, lovely hotel. We had a great break. I understand the limitations on the hotel at this time. The staff were doing their best and were all lovely. My only grumble was the limited food. I’d go back to this hotel in the future and recommend it to others. 😄

Lovely hotel but covid affected

This is a lovely hotel with low level accommodation we had upgraded for the stay so had a spacious bedroom with a separate living area, each apartment also has a large outside garden area with sun beds, sofa. Unfortunately as our stay went on the hotel got quieter and with that the facilities reduced. The good: Pool area awesome with plenty of beds Accommodation was spacious Drinks were mostly branded eg Smirnoff vodka etc Hotel ambience with a lovely reception and atrium Staff generally really friendly a special shout out to Laila who worked in the pool bar Food - at the start of the holiday there was a reasonable range of options, breakfast was good throughout the stay - unfortunately the other meals became very repetitive - I get why with limited customers Covid measures were fine plenty of hand gel units, arrows and space Entertainment - this was fine in the evenings when there was live entertainment every other night Location was about 15 minutes walk in to playa Blanca or Flamingo beach The bad Much of the hotel was closed: no a la carte restaurant offering we were told this less than 24 hours before we flew out, spa closed, adults only pool area closed, poolside restaurant closed, kids club closed although didn’t affect us, Main bar closed Food became very repetitive Air conditioning in room didn’t seem to work Some drinks not included in all inclusive such as Baileys Overall had a great stay and would come back again if was properly open On a separate note we flew with Tui who were a disgrace - flight was changed and never received any notification. Now starting an extra 6 days in an Airbnb whilst we wait for next available flight, no info on their notice board

Great but discrepancies

I tend to write these reviews upon my return home but a number of hotels like to respond so it seems only fair to write this whilst I’m still staying at the hotel... to give them a fair chance to respond in kind, not just in writing. I’ll start with the good. And... there is a lot of good. The hotel is extremely smart and clean. Staff work around the clock to keep it prestige. They do a great job. In fact, all staff that I’ve come into contact do a good job. As always there are some that absolutely stand out and should be recognised by their management. Bar and restaurant staff Sylvia and Adriana put in that extra special effort. The animation guy is also superb, putting in extra special effort. The outdoor pools are fantastic. Clean and well kept. Two heated and one natural. This time of year the weather is hanging on in there. On good days it’s 27, On cloudy days it’s low 20s - but that is a lot better than the uk in November. The bits that I need to highlight are what is advertised versus what is open. We’re mid Covid and I get life is not normal. But, tui, and the hotel are boasting a la carte restaurants and a spa, none of which are operating. I’m told by hotel staff this is due to Covid regulations. You can’t operate a restaurant due to Covid but the buffet can operate just fine? This feels like more of a cost saving exercise. Strange that other local hotels can operate all restaurants. To the all inclusive option is good, but not everything is all inc. I’ll attach a menu link and photo to clarify. Purely to help you make an informed choice when booking. Where’s the nearest beach? Playa flamingo. An easy twenty minute walk. Nice and not an issue. Kids club? Yes. It’s great and well hosted. Evening entertainment? Hmm I’ll attach a photo All inclusive? The menu has drinks that are all in and some that are not. Those with a star are all inclusive. Those without will cost you. What’s all the premium apartments about? Not so impressed here. They’ve sectioned off part of the site for premium apartments. Effectively very little difference to the other apartments. What is very annoying is on the sectioned off section there are a number of facilities which are implied for use only by those apartments. I don’t believe that is the case - those facilities are for use by everyone (tennis courts, adults pool, basketball etc). I think they’ve actually downgraded the resort by doing this.

Great hotel, good food & excellent friendly staff and SAFE. Very clean, staff constantly going around and sanitising there work area. There hand sanitising stations all around the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
