The most beautiful place I've ever been

The place is great. We stayed a few nights in a beach bungalow and one night in a water villa with a pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would advise wearing aqua shoes because there are corals on the beach and in the water. The food is delicious, my favorite restaurant is Jade. The app is very helpful and we used it to keep track of cars to get around. It was an unforgettable experience.

The fact that this was our returning visit to Dhigali says a lot, We very rarely go back to places as there are so many destinations to discover. We love Dhigali for the sheer luxury. We originally chose this island resort as it has one level of all inclusiveness so there is no feeling of exclusion on a luxury resort. It is also not too large - and despite being near capacity - it never feels like you are crowded - far from it - you often feel it is almost empty. The fine dining is fantastic (although seems to be more supplements on the menus this time) the staff are brilliant and the location is just magical. For me personally, I love the Snorkelling which is excellent and it was great to see Sharks and Rays back this year. Snorkelling at the East and Haali bar best for me as the Sea in front of the Beach Bungalows didn't have great visibility. Our only slight gripe was that the Faru Dinner menu was very limited (their lunch menu was far better). This and that they seemed busier at lunch times due to Jade not being open at this time. All in all, we had a wonderful ten days, and wish to thank all the staff (too many names to mention) for their attentiveness in making our stay so fantastic. Christian the manager was always about and keen to ensure our stay was perfect as it could be. The East Bar is great but nice to go the Haali bar which feels like you are on a deserted island - with lounge cushions and cocktails! In particular I would like to thank all the beach bar staff for the laughs/banter and sublime cocktails - they are can make anything you ask. Trouble is a Passion Fruit Daiquiri is not the same made by myself in cold wet February in Blighty! Tips - Great spot for Snorkelling half way between last man made reef and water bungalows at the East Beach - there is an outfall pipe which the fish love. Make sure you "hire" the free Flippers as you will struggle without these. Book the A la Carte Restaurants before you go to ensure availability. Don't forget to visit the Iconic Haali Bar for Sunset views. Try the Eggs Benedict for Breakfast! - It's lush - thanks Chef Puuthu !!

Happy experience in Dhigali

We visited Dhigali for our honeymoon. Dhigali family were always kind for us. They give us “a wonderful services”, great food, nice nature. Room condition was very nice and clean. There were many programs in Dhigali, so we can enjoyed various experiences. We hope that we come back here on our anniversary.

Very bad

Unlike many others, we did not enjoy this trip. It started that they couldn't arrange a seaplane for our arrival at the airport in Male. Even though I wanted to pay extra for this, they couldn't give us a private plane. We arrived at Male airport at 3:30 PM and finally arrived at the hotel around 8:10 PM. First we had to take a domestic flight, then a bus and then a speedboat in the dark on a very rough and wild sea, a nightmare! The rooms are clean and have a nice view (we took the water villas). The food in the main restaurant/buffet is substandard for the price you pay. But the drinks in particular are not drinkable here, they cannot make any cocktail decent here. Very sad for a 5 star resort. There is also no ambiance, they try to organize things (such as a pool party) but there was no one in the water and you could hardly hear the sound of the DJ. Maybe they mainly want to attract an older audience? Our departure from the hotel was also a disaster. Our flight to Dubai from Male airport departs at 11am. But they only let us know very late the day before that we have to eat our breakfast at 5:10 am and our seaplane flight is at 6:25 am. The flight itself only takes 45 minutes. What should we do for another 3 to 4 hours at Male airport? This was a stress holiday for us instead of a relaxing holiday. No, I do not recommend this resort for this price

It just gets better and better

This was our third visit to Dhigali and this resort just gets better and better. It’s a bit like returning home as we now know so many of the staff and it’s lovely to be greeted with hugs and kisses from the people we now consider friends. There have been improvements this year. My wife and I thought the quality of the food had improved in all the restaurants. In previous years we thought the food in Jade and Faru were very similar. This year the menu’s have completely changed and the selections available in both are now different to one another. The menu in Batuta has also had an overhaul and there is a more varied selection of dishes available this year. The food in the buffet restaurant continues to be of a very high quality with a large selection of food at all meals. The rooms are all well kept and clean. They get cleaned every day and there is a turn down service in the evening and the mini bar which is included in the rates gets replenished every day. There is just one anomaly here in that you are given a small snack basket in your room where the items are chargeable, I’m not sure why as the value of the basket is low. This is all inclusive resort so why charge extra for something so small? Of course Dhigali just wouldn’t be the same without the staff. A big shout out to Martin and Jem in the coffee shop and Haali bar for their great latte coffees and gin & tonics. Sergur (hope I have spelt that right) in the Haali bar. To Emmanuel in the East bar, Hadhoum and Nette in reception, Kumar, Cathy in the Jade restaurant who also sings in the bar sometimes. Hassan the Resort Manager and Chris Szabo the general Manager. He was new last year when we visited in February 2023 but you can see his influence throughout the resort. You will also see him around the resort all the time talking to guests and staff getting feedback on your holidays. I’m sure he must have a twin brother as the man seems to be in two places at the same time.😀. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and if you are thinking of taking a holiday in the Maldives look no further, I cannot recommend this island highly enough. I guarantee you a great holiday. Hopefully we will be back next year.
