Wow!
Wow! This hotel rocks, really. We were not sure what to expect especially as the reviews at the beginning were quite mixed but we were blown away by this hotel, the location, the service and the food quality. We have never been in an all-inclusive, so were not sure what to expect. Check-in was easy and super nice. You get a wrist band which is also a key to the room - very convenient! The hotel is very stylish, very elegant yet simple. Everyone who works there is extremely nice and friendly and well trained. You feel that they want you to feel comfortable and that they want you to enjoy the stay. The pool(s) are all great, water was very warm, and I enjoyed the water activities that start at 12 (only for 1 hour, so if you don't like it, don't worry, it will be quiet the rest of the day). ALL restaurants that we tried out were absolutely great, very fresh food, very good service and you never had the impression that they tried to save money by not bringing drinks quickly enough - on the contrary. I also appreciated the fact that restaurants are all served, i.e. no buffets. This adds to the classy feeling and avoids the "crowds" at the buffet (which is somehow how I imagined an all inclusive hotel - but I was sooo wrong on this impression). Talking about buffet: the breakfast buffet is amazing. There is everything that you wish for and even more. The location of the hotel is also nice. Right at the beach with a little walking street where you can go for miles and miles until you end up in Maspalomas. The beach (which is a public beach) is nice and we also spent some time there. If I have to find some things that the hotel could improve, I have 2 points: - I thought that the opening hours of restaurants were a bit "strange", i.e. there is not that much choice at lunch time. To be clear: it was totally ok and no complaints but I wished they had the Cevecheria also open at lunch time. This bar only has cold food so I was not feeling like eating there in the evening but would have been really nice to go there for lunch. - The rooms are.... small. They are ok as you do not spend a lot of time in the room but compared to the hotel and how "breezy" everything felt, the rooms were nicely decorated but too small. Or at least I was missing a real cupboard. There is only an open shelf in the room and if you are not the most organized person, you always have to look at the mess that you have in the open cupboard (which is even more the case when you travel with a kid). I was also missing one or two shelfs under the sink to put toiletry stuff on it. We will for sure get back to this hotel. One tip: if you can, take a room with open view. It is definitively worth it.
The vegan review you've been looking for.
The vegan friendly review you have been looking for... But first...What an amazing hotel. The interior, the layout, the design, the rooms, the furniture, the attention to detail... Stunning. It really is picture perfect. We booked a premium resort view and got upgraded to a premium sea view. The room was super cute. We had a cot as requested in our booking which our daughter loved. Mini bar was included and refilled everyday. No need to bring a beach bag and towels as they are provided and were very nice. Room was cleaned well. The staff 10/10. Every single one of them are amazing. They are friendly, happy all time, attentive and warm, nothing was too much. I lost my earring in one of the pools (happened to be the kids splash park, I thought id never get it back) and the lovely life guard took time out his schedule without me having to ask to find it and locate me at another part of the hotel. I couldn't be more grateful for him! The hotel/area itself is very Spanish (as it should be) my partner, daughter and I speak Spanish so we were fine but everyone spoke great english for anyone wondering or worried about communication. We seemed to be one of the youngest guests/family at the resort if not he only ones (early 30s) but honestly it did not bother us as everyone was lovely, they loved our daughter and tbh it was nice and quiet which is what we wanted. The area is quiet also but a 45-1hr walk along the coast to maspalomas/dunes which has a lot going on. Personally a little too much when your'e with a toddler. But its there! Now for the food. Myself and my 2 year old are vegans (I am actually a vegan chef) and we were catered for well. They have vegan options on every menu and upon request you can ask/create your own meal at the restaurants. Dairy free milks are on show at breakfast but for yogurts, cheese etc you have to ask one of the chefs and they will make sure you have it every morning. A gift from me to you, ask if they can make you vegan pancakes at the omelette station.. mmhmm you're welcome! Only downside to the vegan food is, it can get repetitive as theres not an abundance of options. I would recommend the hotel expand on their vegan menu as there are a lot of great meals to make that doesn't just include raw/cooked veg. Cooked tofu, vegan sausages/meat etc would be great additions. The alcohol/cocktails are included (aside from a select few) and they are not shy with their measurements. The service is 10/10. You really do get what you pay for. Thank you Paradisus Gran Canaria for the perfect first holiday for my family and I. We will definitely be back! Muchas gracias xx
Paradisus!
We booked this hotel before it opened so got a bargain. Hotel is beautiful - no expense spared on the refurb. Entertainment for both kids and adults were fab. We star gazed, went to the outdoor cinema, did yoga and mindfulness, gym classes, kids club and various workshops to name just a few. Food fab, buffet at breakfast then different restaurants to choose from for lunch and dinner. The shack was great for lunch, our fav restaurant was the Italian. But all brilliant. The staff were all so lovely. Esp Davide from the entertainment team who was fab with my daughter. A few issues with service - forgetting to bring things, time it took for things to arrive etc. But all minor - and totally expected when just opening. The staff are all so welcoming. Aqua Dance is a must, so is the cookie skillet in the sports bar.
Beautiful new hotel
Rafik & Sarah in ginger bar go above & beyond in giving excellent customer service. I have dietary needs & they both consistently tailor made coffees, cocktails, food etc that was so amazingly impressive. We felt very looked after by them both. They would be best placed to train all staff within this hotel to offer this consistent high standard of service & to produce the same items every time. The reason I say this as we did not experience this in some other parts of this hotel. Well done to Rafik & Sarah in ginger.
A beautiful place & a fantastic stay - we didn't want to leave!
I don't usually write long reviews, and I don't really want to tell everyone about this place because I want to keep it for myself, but I have to tell everyone how amazing our stay was! The Hotel This hotel is stunning, inside and out. It has been completely renovated to an immaculate standard and offers a calm and neutral design inside, and a relaxing environment outside with infinity pools and a palm tree garden. If you're looking for a party hotel in Gran Canaria this is not the place for you. The Room The rooms are spacious with a lovely modern design, large beds, walk-in shower and plenty of space to relax with your own balcony. We were on the 7th floor, having booked The Reserve package, with a stunning sea view. There is a fully stocked mini-bar and tea & coffee making facilities. The Reserve Reserve guests get a private check-in area, lounge, a la carte breakfast and separate swimming pool area which is for adults only. You will see several coloured bracelets for the different categories, the bracelets are sustainable material and wood (not plastic) and also act as your room key. All inclusive There is so much included in your stay here, you can do as much or as little as you like. Firstly, unlike many European hotels, all-inclusive means all-inclusive! All meals and drinks are included, as well as snacks throughout the day (Ginger is even open 24 hours!) You can use any of the restaurants with no restrictions, including Peseta, which proudly uses local food and has been designed by a local Michelin starred chef who visits every week to ensure the quality of the food is maintained. You can even enjoy a wine pairing menu here from the sommelier for just €30 which we would highly recommend! The staff Considering the hotel has only been open for 2 months, it is an incredible experience already. The staff are fantastic, they are very proud of their hotel and keen to help you enjoy the experience and the island. Nothing is too much trouble and if you have any questions during your stay they will do their best to help. Special thanks to Jorge and Daniel for making our stay so amazing. Also thanks to Victoria, Cinthia, Sergio and Maria in the Reserve. Pedro and Tomy in the entertainment team were always enthusiastic and encouraging, Sara makes a great latte in Ginger and thanks to Jenay for the great cocktails :-) Diego, the sommelier, is knowledgeable and helpful and his wine pairing menu was delicious! I also thoroughly enjoyed Isabel's meditation and found my zen at this beautiful place. Activities/experiences The hotel offers excursions, outdoor cinema, fitness classes, yoga, wine tasting....I could go on! We didn't want to leave and we will definitely be coming back!
