Great stay!
We found the hotel to be modern, clean and in a lovely setting. We were impressed with the facilities available to us. We enjoyed the food, there was a varied selection every day. The hotel is situated on a busy road but once you are inside the hotel, it seems like a world away. It is close to all amenities. There were a few things lacking for us. We found the service to be slow, the staff at the beach house took around an hour to offer us a drink around the poolside. Within the restaurant, it was rare that we were offered a second drink. It might be beneficial if the hotel could invest in an app to allow you to order your drinks. We also found it to be quite chaotic within the restaurant, with people walking through the restaurant and a little space when queuing for food. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay but would consider this to be a 4* hotel not a 5*.
Absolutely outstanding!!
We booked all-inclusive for 7 nights and had an absolutely amazing time here! It was a relaxed chilled atmosphere in a modern, well organised and quality hotel. We arrived around 1:30am and have to admit at that time, on a very touristy street, whilst the hotel looked great I was a little underwhelmed. However this soon changed. It was a bit weird we were asked to sit and wait before we could go to our room, but it turns out this is actually a really nice touch, as even at that time in the morning they take you on a very useful little tour of the hotel and explain the facilities and what is included. Hotel is a bit of a maze, especially at that time of the morning but you soon find your way around and it is only small so no issue. Room was great, clean, modern, has a free mini bar that is replenished daily and everything you need. We had a jacuzzi room with a terrace/street view. The jacuzzi was great and the terrace was nice but the view was a little disappointing as it was on the ground level and the view was simply a wall. Nice cosy and private but just be aware of this if you book this type of room. I think the other jacuzzi options are sea views..... Food, was the best all-inclusive food I've ever had. Very good quality and great variety. I am not really a dessert person but some of the desserts were amazing! The staff in the restaurant are very attentive and work hard to make sure you have what you need. Mostly friendly and alway helpful. Bars - great selection of drinks, most of which are included in the all-inclusive package including premium spirits and great cocktails. The beach bar is the place to get great milkshakes which again are included in AI. Snacks at the beach and pool bars too, again AI. The staff on all the bars were great! Pools - Roof top pool is a little bit bland, but plenty of good sunbeds if you fail to get one at the main pool. And nice to sit and chill on the edge of the pool with a drink. Main pool has some really nice sunbeds and the great little almost private rooms which are open to all to use. Though sun worshipers have to strategically get the few sunbeds that have the sun all day. There aren't many! And whilst the sunbed reservation rules are actually better enforced than other hotels I've stayed in, it is a little bit annoying. You can't get on sunbeds before 9am, and there is a loose queuing system that was being implemented, but not strictly enforced, as you could queue on one side, but then someone would just walk up from the other, who had't queued! It's a difficult one, and we did get some of the premium ones on a couple of occasions, so not taking much away for that. Didn't really use the beach much, it is OK but very cramped and the beach is tiny so not really somewhere we wanted to be. Nice to sit and have a drink but not somewhere we spent the day. Didn't do any watersports, thought they were a little expensive. The staff throughout the hotel are great. Friendly, helpful and available. The only slight issue was with the front desk staff, found a couple of them a little unhelpful though not all. The guest relations desk was mush more useful when asking questions. Surrounding area. There is loads of shops, bars and restaurants along the strip the hotel is on. The shops are pretty much all selling the same souvenir type stuff and my girlfriend loved it, me not so much after a week! But plenty to peruse! If you walk along the seafront there is a load of bars and restaurants, we had a couple of drinks but didn't eat out. There is certainly enough to do in the surrounding area, and the walks along the front are nice. We took a bus in to Heraklion one day, quite easy from bus stop 22 and takes about 40 minutes. Bus staff make sure you know which stop to get off at and were helpful. Overall we had a great, relaxing time here and the hotel was great, no complaints at all and would return. Thanks Akasha team!
Amazing Akasha Hotel
We visited the Akasha hotel second week of September. We were so happy to find the hotel to be exactly like the pictures. Very aesthetically pleasing. We opted for All inclusive and booked private pool room with a sea view and it was beautiful. We found the food a little repetitive/ tasting similar given we don’t eat beef or pork. Three of us booked a two day spa package with Elena the Spa Manager and we were so happy. She was so friendly, polite and kind- really great service skills. Elena did my deep tissue massage and it’s the best I’ve ever had! She is amazing at what she does. The other massages were performed by Marigianna and Dimitra and both family members had a great experience. Nico the General hotel manager was really helpful and genuine in dealing with a couple of issues we had during our stay- lighting and an issue with booking the A la carte restaurant. Really impressive customer service. It would have been nice to have a little more in terms of entertainment, as there wasn’t a DJ. However we enjoyed the band in the evening and the musician at dinner.
We had a great stay
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Relaxing and quiet is the atmosphere here. Buffet style food at all times was a different touch to what we were used too. It maybe isint to everyone’s liking but we loved it. Wide range of foods and the chef was able to highlight once I asked, all gluten free dishes along with specific bread and dessert items. 8.45 am is the magic time. Que for the beds and you will get one no problem. Staff amazing. Hotel room was perfect and spacious. Needs better tv options for English speakers or the option to plug in your own chrome cast or something (tv is built into a frame).
