Great family run beachfront hotel
I booked this hotel as a last minute holiday with my mum and sister for 4 nights and it was amazing! Konstantin (the owner) was very friendly and explains everything to us at check in and we had some pleasant casual chats when seeing him around the hotel, which was nice! Please be aware that the Gov tax is cash only! Everyone else working at the hotel were also very friendly. Even the guests were friendly and looked out for and respected eachother. The hotel is located right on the beach front and the sea was very clear (didn't need Snorkels to see in the water) and mostly calm. The only thing is that it is a pebble beach so bring your wet shoes! When you're around 3 metres into the water it is sand and you can walk quite far out and still touch the ground. The general location of the hotel is good - nice and quiet if that's what you're looking for. There's a corner shop and a couple of restaurants next door which was handy. If you wanted to venture out a bit, then there's a little town/strip around 500m away and is very walkable. It is a small family run hotel with spacious, clean rooms with a balcony with views to die for! We were luckily enough to be allocated a room with the pool view plus a lot of sea view, but was advertised as 'side sea view'. Couldn't ask for anything else! You do have to pay for AC, €10 per night, in the room but it is so worth it, especially in the heat! We did need to request for more shower gel but very minor issue in the grand scheme of things! I didn't use the pool since the sea was right there but it looked clean and I believe the depth goes to 2.1m. There's also a small kids pool and a hot tub. There were also showers for you to rinse off which was refreshing. There are enough sunbeds for everyone to use. We did find that people would leave their towels on the sunbeds for the duration of their stay. So we did that too - I wouldn't usually do this but everyone seemed to do it so we followed suit. Wherever your sunbeds is, it is only a few steps from sea and bar/restaurant (same building). The bar provided soft drinks, 1 beer on tap and some spirits. They didn't do any cocktails but understandable as it is a small hotel. They were willing to mix anything together if you wanted to though. There was also a juice machine with water which you can help yourself to. Drinks were served in a plastic cup though, but not a big issue for me. The restaurant had many tables for you to chose from and also had a shaded outdoor seating area which was good for chilling out of an evening. They made different dishes every day for lunch and dinner which was nice. There were only 8 hot varieties but I felt it was enough and everything was tasy and tasted homecooked! This consisted of, pork, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, fish, veg, rice, pasta and chips. They also had bread, salad, fruits and desserts available and soup at lunch. Breakfast was mostly the same every day as expected but they'd rotate how the eggs are cooked e.g. scrambled or poached, have bacon or mushrooms one day. On the day of departure, we checked our at 12 but our transfer wasn't until 17.25. There was luggage storage available and we were allowed to use the facilities still and have lunch and drinks which was really nice as not many hotels provide this, definitely not for the drinks anyway! There are toilets and a shower room available so we were able to have a quick shower before actually leaving. The shower room did get quite wet everywhere so bear that in mind! All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely come back in the future!
Amazing gem
This hotel is a gem 💎 of a 3 ⭐️ staff excellent would highly recommend and will be coming back next year for sure food is good drinks are good lovely pool and the staff can’t do enough to make sure your stay is fantastic 5 minutes away from town and all restaurants
Beautiful authentic Greek hotel
This hotel is perfectly located on the Alykes beach. It’s a small family run hotel with 40 rooms and owned by a lovely couple, Konstantine and Doris. They are so welcoming and really contributed to the authentic Greek feel of the place. We were in room 308 which was really spacious and clean with a cleaning service provided daily. There was also a fridge in the room and plenty of wardrobe space and it had a lovely balcony with views across the sea. The air conditioning was decent too and very needed in the August heat! This cost €10 per night but there was no pressure to use this and we were very much encouraged to see how we managed. We booked all inclusive as the prices weren’t much different to self catering. The all inclusive is not huge selection wise and food isn’t served all day long but the food that is served is fresh and tasty and we always found something we enjoyed. It’s amazing how clean the place stayed without the ability for holiday makers to eat all day long and leave plates and food everywhere! The drinks are also of good quality. We would have liked the option to have a glass for drinks in the evenings but also understand why the hotel doesn’t provide this. Alykes is such a beautiful area. The beach is fabulous with lots of lovely beach bars and fantastic restaurants. We ate out every evening, which we’d intended to do and budgeted for and we never had a bad meal with whole time we were there. We’d definitely return to the Konstantine Beach Hotel again and thank you Konstantine and Doris for a great stay.
