Was worried but happy overall

As you can see by the reviews, there are varying opinions of this place. I was torn between 3 hotels in the same price range but this location was great and the sunset comments pulled me in. I also checked reviews on booking and and those seemed to be better overall, so I cashed in points on my credit card for a 3 night stay. Even if I had paid, you could have gotten a room for about $40/nite in mid Oct. It's a grand hotel and must have been a stunner however many years ago (approaching Omni Mt. Washington feel). As mentioned, the pool area is great and I had no issues at all except the water was freezing. The lobby is pretty, outside patio very nice, dining room seemed nice too but was kind of depressing cuz it's so big and no one's eating in there (didn't have the bkfst). The room itself left a little to be desired: not so comfy, low beds that only came up to the bottom of my knee, the aforementioned tiniest shower ever, just a general old feeling to it. But it was roomy, clean, nice balcony view of the ocean/sunset, fridge that kept things cold. In general things just need freshening up. The owner was mostly very nice. I walked by one of the other hotels I'd considered and was happy I chose this one and its close to everything location.

Best location if a bit dated!

Stayed only 1 night recently and we were pleased enough with our stay. The location is second to none in Parikia, amazing sunsets. The hotel in general is in major need of updating. It is clean but stuck in the 80s or 90s. The pool area was lovely with comfortable sun beds but the pool itself needed cleaning. Full of leaves and debris. The room was clean as was the bedding but in need of a makeover. The shower was one of the smallest I have seen but served its purpose. The lift was also extremely small. 2 people and a suitcase struggled to fit. Having said that, the manager /owner was friendly and helpful, he kept our luggage for 2 nights before we checked in while we were away in antiparos and also kindly ordered a taxi on the day we were leaving to take us to the ferry. The hotel has so much potential and in its day was lovely I'm sure. It would be great to see it restored to its former glory. It was excellent value for money for a one night stay. We ate in the Thai restaurant attached and were extremely satisfied. Separate review for that.

Don’t be fooled by appearance

Stay away from this hotel. After much argument over who booked , the room and handling over more money than was agreed , we finally got the key to a treble room It was three single very flat beds , with no space to move .in fact the balcony door could not open fully due to end of bed . We went and got our money back and left. The owner who says he’s 30 years in hospitality Needs to go back And get retraining . A very rude man.

Not acceptable bedroom standards for a hotel.

Firstly we spotted the hotel on the approach to Paros on the ferry. Itis one of the largest buildings and commands fantastic views of the ocean and Paraika. On approach to the hotel there is a fabulous terrace to sit outside and enjoy the views. When entering the hotel we were greeted by an impressive reception area, which was spotlessly clean. We booked a suite for 5 nights on a room only basis for €660. We were greeted by the owner of the hotel who checked us in. He also handed us our tv remote and air conditioning remote, this reminded me of a cheap hotel in Ibiza when i was 18. We had read the reviews of the hotel beforehand so had expectations to a minimum. We said it would be fine once it was clean. We went to the room that was assigned to us. The room was not a suite and it was filthy. There was previous occupiers ferry tickets on the shelf, the bin was not empty, the floor was full of hair and sand (it had not been swept or washed) and there was make up remover wipes on the floor in the corner. The throw on the bed was stained, we removed it and the sheets underneath were clean and fresh. The ashtray on the balcony had not been cleaned from the previous guest either. We decided we could not stay in this room. The fact tbat this room could be rented out in a pandemic in the state we reveived it is nothing short of disgusting. We made our way to reception. At reception we again met the owner. We advised that we booked a suite and not that disgusting room. He immediately apologised for the mix up with the room and quickly reallocated us to another room. He did this politely and professionally. We were given another room which was much better and it was generally clean. The views from the room were amazing. We accepted this room. We did not eat in the hotel but had drinks on the terrace. The owners wife and the lady serving us were lovely all week. Very polite and friendly. The hotel restaurant is a Thai restaurant and though we didnt eat there the food looked bery good. The pool area is small but well maintained. There is a small beach outside the hotel which is nice. The hotel wifi is not great, it is difficult to get signal and was often not available. For the price we paid we expected a better standard of room. The rooms are in serious need of an upgrade/refurbishment. Yes there is a flat screen tv (with minimal channels) and air conditioning (its alright), the beds, decor and bathrooms were probably acceptable in 1990 but not acceptable now. The bedrooms do not match the standard of the hotel exterior and terrace. The rating of two is for the staff and the fabulous terrace but as the rooms are the main part of a hotel i cannot rate them any stars. Advice would be to stay elsewhere. I have attached some pictures to this review. The hotel owner obviously does not inspect any bedrooms and as such cleaning standards in the rooms is disgustingly poor.

Stay elsewhere

We walked into the hotel with moderate expectations for the price. As we walked into the clean lobby, I was immediately introduced to the manager who is in charge of all hotel responsibilities - front desk clerk, waiter, hotel upkeep, etc. This single man may have been the only employee in the hotel because he literally ran from waiting a table to checking a guest in—no wonder he was grumpy half of the time (I mean, he was handling multiple operations at once). The pool, although unheated, was very nice—the view was very good. On the other hand, the rooms are borderline disgusting. There were stains on the sheets and towels were dirty. I wish I was lying when I said one of our towels had a “human feces” style stain on it. The hotel building itself definitely looks a little run down, as evident in the rooms straight from 1982. Please take me advice and use the money you’d use at the Pondrossos and stay at a cleaner, better hotel.
