Perfect location and service
Stayed 19 - 26 Sept, 2020. Arrived to a very warm welcome which I must say late at night is refreshing. Mikey assisted taking our luggage to a 2nd floor room overlooking the front of the hotel and explained about the safe & air con etc. Our room (220) was extremely clean & large enough for our week's stay (air con worked brilliantly). There was plenty of drawer & wardrobe storage and with a few hangers from home we were sorted. The small balcony with a table & 2 chairs was adequate along with a clothes line for drying. The massive bed and pillows were so comfortable, best night's sleep ever. Bedding was changed regularly and towels daily. We stayed B & B and breakfast is served on the 3rd floor (roof area). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, buffet food is not allowed. Mikey's did a fantastic job and worked so hard to ensure guests were happy with their food. He would bring out lots of different choices including coffee/tea, cake, croissants, yogurt, fruit juice, breads, fruit, hubby's English breakfast and my fluffy scrambled eggs. Walk to the harbour/beach is a steady 10 mins walk and we used Flavors Cafe beach front sun beds (see review). There are bars, cafes and supermarkets within a few minutes walk. We dined in different restaurants which all served fantastic food. Due to an evening flight home, we kept the room until 5.30pm for €20 which was a bargain considering we usually have to pay for the safe/fridge but not in this hotel. The hotel is small but perfectly sized, in a great location with excellent hard-working genuinely nice staff. We will definitely return to the Parga Olympic Hotel and would recommend this accommodation if you want a great base to enjoy a chilled out holiday.
Great city hotel
The hotel is nicely located almost in the center of Parga next to the main Parga's church of Saint Nicholas. In general this is not a big deal as Parga town is rather small, so going from one side of town to another won't take too much time. The hotel has underground parking and 4 floors. The roof floor is open and occupied by the restaurant and bar, which has great view over the city, Venetian castle and sea. The breakfast is from 8 AM to noon and sun is already quite hot at 8, but they do have umbrellas. During coronavirus pandemic the hotel removed buffet and replaced it with a menu, which made breakfast much slower. But I was absolutely enjoying sun and the view, while waiting for my order. Consider trying their filtered coffee - it is really good. Mind that reception is open from 07.00 until 22.30 so night arrival is problematic. The hotel stuff is friendly and helpful, communication in English is not a problem. The rooms in the hotel are rather small, but balcony is rather spatial and I loved spending evenings after sunset there. There is table, stool, small fridge, electric kettle, air conditioner, TV with only Greek channels, safety box with code, wall closet with hangers. Each side of the bed has an electric socket, which is very convenient. There is a bottle opener, 2 glasses and two mugs. If you want to have a plate, buy a sheep yogurt from any supermarket, which comes in a ceramic plate. Bathroom has a shower and hair dryer. Balconies are either facing town center and sea or mountains. Parga is small not noisy town so any side is very calm. All rooms and the lobby have free Internet with good connection. Parga has 3 beaches beautiful in their own way - largest Valtos in 700m, but you would need to go over the hill. The central beach Krioneri, with view to the castle and small Panagia island is in 525m. This beach is the most busy one. And further there is a smaller, more secluded Piso Krioneri beach in 960 meters just next to Sklaventis. There are 370m from the hotel to the Parga's port and 300m to the bus station. The closest shop is Aristo just 50m away, another chain supermarket is small Sklaventis in 950m.
Expensive but very comfortable
Very comfortable in a very convenient location next to the cathedral and only few minutes walk to the sea. Wide room and very good service. Breakfast could be improved, at least with some more fresh fruit it's not possible to offer only melon with this kind of rate. The terrace where it is served is too hot already at 8 am under the sun. The hotel has its own parking space which is excellent for parga.
Be aware with your credit card
I made a reservation at this hotel by booking with FREE CANCELATION After 2 days i cancelled my triple room because i found something better Booking said to me : your reservation is cancelled free of charge BUT SURPRISE AFTER 3 MONTHS the hotel took 200 euro from my credit card I was at the police in my contry and accused the hotel for fraud Now i am expecting... Be AWARE
Awesome dinner view
I had an early dinner so I was the only one there. But the service and dinner was good at a reasonable price. I had a seafood sampler plate with the view of Parga. After dinner they gave me a shot of Mastika on the house.
