Hotellet er meget enestående. Belligende højt over byen med en smuk udsigt over havnen og byen. Indgangen er en efterligning af 2 gamle kirker med stille orgelmusik. Kunstig vandfald inden i hotellet. Flere hyggelige steder at sidde og nyde en drink eller en øl. Koster lidt mere, men det er ganske ok i dette Ambiente.
Rude bar staff
This is our 3rd visit to the Volcan and as before we have had a great time and made to feel very welcome. 99% of the staff are great and really friendly. However I had the misfortune to meet Paula in the downstairs bar last night. My wife went to the bar and asked for two glasses of white wine and was told they didn’t have any wine glasses. Paula poured wine into Brandy glasses. We then transferred the wine from the brandy glass to the wine glass we had previously to find that only a third of our glasses were filled with wine. I went to the bar to explain to Paula could she rectify this out of principal being that we had paid for two glasses of wine. I am writing this review because of the rude behaviour that followed. She angrily splashed some wine to top up one of the glasses only, and waved her hands in the air as if we were the biggest nuisance. Having met such helpful and friendly staff up until now she stood out from the crowd as being rude and patronising. It was my wife’s birthday and we could have paid for a few more glasses … it was not about being greedy it was about the principal and her attitude. To be waved away when I was being polite is not the attitude I would have expected from this otherwise fantastic resort. I would normally rate the hotel at 5, but it loses one due to last nights event.
Nice but could be better
Spent a week here in the adults only Club area. Room was great and perfectly serviced throughout. There was a really nice rooftop pool and sunbathing area but sometimes lots of beds were reserved with towels for hours on end. Pool bar closed at 3.30 which is the best time to go up there so that was disappointing. Used the restaurant Rubicon and found the menu quite limited. The food was lukewarm but just about ok. Staff were generally really good but on occasion quite disorganised especially in the bar area.
This was our first stay in the Hotel Volcan and it was to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. From my initial contact with Daniela prior to our visit, to our arrival and the lovely greeting from Ilona and to our checkout experience, our experience was amazing. I had booked a Club Suite but we were upgraded to their best suite and walking into it is an experience that we won't forget. Breakfast in the Club Restaurant was great with lots of variety and hot food cooked to order. It would be impossible to leave hungry. Our stay was really amazing and all the staff without exception couldn't gave been any more helpful and all greeted us with a smile. Given that we didn't speak Spanish, we had no problems being understood and the majority of staff had very good English. Our stay went beyond our expectations and we really enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous holiday filled with lots of memories.
The Volcan hotel is definitely worth it hype. I have stayed in numerous hotels in playa Blanca before, I have to say this hotel has to be the best by far! We stayed in the Club Volcan room (which is the option for adults only part of the hotel) and it was truly worth paying that little bit extra for. The food at the hotel was fabulous at breakfast you ordered you hot food however there is still your traditional buffet for your cold food breakfast, where you can help yourself to such delicious food like croissants and other delicious pastry. They also have the famous holiday toaster where can can pick from a variety of different bread. I would also like to give a huge thank you and shout out to one of the staff members of the hotel, Zakaria. He truly made our hotel experience more amazing than it already was, standing out from the rest of the staff (who were also polite) and going the extra mile for every guest. He is truly an asset to the hotel and a genuine reason why we will be booking, and visiting again in a few months.
