Excellent Return Holiday - BUT!!!

This was our second holiday at the Golden Sun Resort and Spa and overall, it was excellent. positives first…. Staff: George, Kelly, Nancy and the new tall chap (sorry we didn’t get his name) really look after you. There attention to service is exemplary. Resort grounds and main pool: Immaculate and very well maintained. Huge pool with luxury sun loungers. Negatives: acoustic genre of music to reflect the ambiance of the main pool would be nice. Parasol on the terrace of the private pool rooms would make a huge difference as there’s no shade whatsoever and on one occasion we couldn’t get shade from the main pool as all the beds were taken. A simple parasol would make the pool rooms perfect & I’m struggling to understand why management haven’t thought of this Noisy guests: we were unfortunate to have noisy, inconsiderate guests in a pool room 2 doors up who Insisted on playing loud music, swearing and bombing in the pool. Everyone is entitled to enjoy themselves but the ambience is luxurious and tranquil. Get a private villa if you’re not going to be considerate to others! Mgt didn’t do much about it. If I could make one change, it would be to have a parasol on the terrace of the private pools. Can’t do much about badly behaved guests - that’s for management to resolve. Hopefully an isolated incident as we left the following day, possibly someone else’s problem

Great Stay, Great Service

What was amazing: - the room (treated ourselves to a private pool room) which was stunning, the pool area is amazing with super luxurious sunbeds. - the service was exceptional. In particular George at breakfast, his service is superb. He manages the entire restaurant on his own, and does an amazing job at it! Also Kelly & Nancy on the Bar into the evening are super personable and a great team! We were made to feel very welcome. Overall, some of the best service we have experienced worldwide! - the main pool area is also great, well maintained and immaculately clean. Nice sunbeds again here. - breakfast service is great (A la carte) but you can order what you like. Might be an idea to put on a small buffet to speed things up at busy times though. The restaurant itself is really nice overlooking the main pool. - great coffee! Great cocktails from the bar too! Whatever you want, Kelly would deliver! - location: really central to Kalamaki and all it has to offer. Plenty of restaurants, bars and Tavernas to chose from. - rooms and bedding changed/cleaned daily. - the grounds are super well manicured and clean. It’s a small resort and feels relaxed and friendly. What could be better: - maybe the buffet style breakfast with more fruit, pastries, fruit juices and bread people can help themselves to so it’s a bit more casual and people are not waiting for table service. - better quality (larger) towels for the shower and bigger pool towels too would be a nice touch (minor point) - more hangers and storage in the rooms. We stayed for 4 nights so it was adequate but if staying for a week it’s probably going to be a struggle.

Incredible Adult Only Resort

Booked a room with the private swimming pool and it was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are a good size and very clean, the pool area is just the right size to have a swim, it's not just a plunge pool. The overall resort is clean and very well laid out. The main swimming pool is big and we had no trouble getting a sun lounger there on days we wanted to something a bit different to our private pool. Breakfast is included and is table service. Thank you George for your bright smile and help every morning. There is good choice and the food was always excellent. The pool bar is also well stocked and the staff friendly and always on hand. Overall it's one of the best resorts I've been to and as it's only a 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 mins to lots of bars and restaurants I would absolutely recommend it. As people have already said it' is on the flightpath which we were a little concerned about but I have to be honest it didn't bother us that much. Was quite exciting to see the planes come in to land.

Beautiful hotel close to the beach

This stunning small collection of villas have either a private pool or jacuzzi. We opted for the private pool option and it was the perfect spot for a quiet cool down to revive from the heat. The room was well proportioned with everything you might need, including robes and slippers, hair dryer, iron, tea and coffee facilities and fresh water each day. There is a main pool area with very comfy loungers and a pool bar. There is an indoor pool and spa area which also has spa treatments available separately. We were bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was table service. We would have preferred buffet style but our waiter was very accommodating and you could order as much or as little as you liked from the menu. Overall the hotel is beautifully kept and staff are very visible cleaning and tidying, particularly after one stormy day. Excellent stay, enjoyed very much by us both!

Our little bit of paradise

Stayed for a short break to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and 50th's - so a real special occasion. The staff and Resort were amazing from initial email contact with Nelly before booking then arrival with Anna to check-out. The extra special gestures from the Resort on arrival were truly outstanding and very much appreciated - we can't thank you enough. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, we only had a club sandwich from the pool bar before we left, again delicious and huge. Our room was spotless and bigger than I expected, it truly was a haven with the private pool. George was fantastic, a lovely person who was attentive, friendly and just wonderful, making sure he knew his guests from the moment they arrived. The staff are a real asset and make the Resort a great place. We only got to meet Kelly behind the bar briefly however she was another lovely member of staff. Our stay wasn't just a holiday to us, it was the honeymoon we never had, anniversary and 50th's all rolled into one - choosing the Golden Sun Resort was the best decision and worth every hard earned penny. We really did have the most amazing time - thank you. We hope to return next year.
