Excellent place to stay with lovely views.
We arrived on a ferry from Corfu at the port of Igoumenitsa and one of the owners, Kostas, came out to pick us up. This leads straight into one of the big plusses; free transfers. They also took as to the airport when we left. We reckoned this saved us about €150, as taxis are expensive in Greece. The topography of Parga is difficult to describe but effectively it is an old fishing port that has developed into a resort. Somehow it has managed this tastefully and the dynamics of the old town still dominate Parga today. Magda Apartments is well situated, has great reviews and a pool. It is built against the slope that makes for the central rocky spur that reaches out into the Ionian Sea with (naturally) a ruined castle on the promontory. We chose a room at the top and back of the hill which had great view though it was a bit of a climb. This put us away from the town side, but nearer the Valtos beach side, a bonus as this was a favourite spot. On top of the location Magda’s has a cosy bar and breakfast area, shaded by olive trees and it’s nice and quiet being on the outskirts of town. We loved the place and would go back. There are a few pictures in the video to give you a flavour. They even had a guitar in reception, which they let me play in the evenings. The apartments were well furnished and the grounds with olive, lemon and lime trees immaculate. The staff were professional and friendly. For such a great place it’s not expensive, we hope to return next October.
5 star service and amazing staff
We stayed at this apartment hotel during August 2020. I haven’t written a trip advisor review for about 10 years, however the service and welcome at this hotel was such that I just had to endorse this wonderful hotel. We stayed at the hotel as a large group of friends all with young children and were looked after with first class service. If you are thinking of visiting Parga and worried about Covid then I would reassure you that Magdas takes all precautions to make your stay a safe one. The hotel is split among blocks we had several rooms, mainly maisonettes and 2 bedroom apartments. The accommodation is a fantastic standard for Greece and we were never without fresh towels or a cleaned room. A special mention to Kostas, who helped us organise a fantastic day out, arranging a Private boat trip for us, this was a lovely day and very memorable, Kostas attention to detail was excellent. He had lots of advice and tips and we were very much made to feel at home, we’re still enjoying the marmalade he gave us when we left ! The hotel has one of the best locations in parga, being both close to valtos beach, the castle area and the port. The hotel is set in ancient olive groves and very peaceful with great views out to sea. We used the pool a lot, it’s perfect for kids and has welcome shade in the afternoon. The breakfast was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the laid back breakfast times: breakfast was served til midday. I have to mention Dimitrios, he served us breakfast everyday and although rushed off his feet his service was 5 stars - what a guy !! We will definitely be back to Magdas, one of the friendliest places we’ve ever stayed. A proper diamond in parga, keep up the good work !
A lovely family run Hotel
Where do I start. We stayed at this lovely family run hotel in August for 10 nights. the owners, two brothers and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, from picking us up from the airport. The hotel grounds are amongst beautiful gardens on different levels . The hotel consists of four separate building with a small pleasant pool area. We had breakfast each morning on the shaded patio. We stayed in the superior double room, which we found very spacious We will definitely stay at Magda Hotel next time we visit Parga. The only downside to this Hotel is, its at the top of a hill, but there are steps to take a shortcut , we loved this place.
What a wonderful place!
What a lovely place to stay in Parga! Kostas and his team ensure that you lack nothing. Good breakfast, good beds and a fantastic view. I'll definitely be back at Magda's. Magda's is close to the beach (there is a pick up and drop off service) and close to the beautiful Archon River.
Friendly family run hotel
Just spent a lovely week at Magdas. Everything was perfect. We had the villa which was on two floors, its spacious and spotless. The breakfast was great, the marmalade superb. We loved the yoghurt and fruit all served by Demitris who never stopped, he’s amazing. It was lovely sat by the pool and there was never a problem getting a sunbed. We used the complimentary bus down to the beach a few times. It was about 10 minutes to walk into town and the same down to the castle. We highly recommend this family friendly hotel.
