To start off I’ll say that we paid £465 each for 2 of us all inclusive for a week so I’ll base my review based on on that low price. I’ll also add that if you have no patience & haven’t got the ability to queue then don’t go on holiday anywhere until COVID is a thing of the past or you’ll just annoy everyone that does have patience & understands that we’re currently in a different world.. First of all the queue to check in can be long & slow. You’ll also have to pay a tourist tax so be prepared. It tells you this fact in the booking info but everyone in front of us hadn’t read this and acted like they were being robbed by the hotel... The room was a sea view, the bedroom room was ok, there was a shower room that was tiny, had no door on the shower & within a couple of minutes you had suds coming up through the grid on the floor. No big issue really. Our room was just off the path to the beach. It was 2 minutes walk the the restaurant one way & 2 minutes to the beach. The beach bar served great burgers & George on the drinks bar was very friendly. The beach itself wasn’t the best full of stones & fag ends. The beds were ok & they were easy to get with a parasol. Getting in & out of the sea was tricky due to the rocks with sand bags over the top. The sea itself was really nice. The food in the restaurant was all served to you due to COVID & was some of the best I’ve had at this type of resort with the fruit especially being nice & fresh. It was missus birthday whilst we were there & they brought her a cake over which I thought was very nice of them. We only saw the entertainment one night & all the COVID regulations in the hotel made no sense when the animation team had holidaymakers taking part in games which involved lots of contact between the guests? Very strange. Most of the staff were friendly & we had a good time although after 1 visit to the bar near the pool at night the drunken Brits swearing at the bar staff due to slow service put us off.. We are Brits btw! Overall it was a nice break, would I go back? I doubt it until it was an absolute bargain like this time.
Enjoyed every moment of this holiday, the bar staff was so lovely, in fact, all the staff was!!! loved the food especially the Chinese & the snack bars, the only problem for us was the other holiday clients that didn't wear face masks, not forgetting the entertainment, we loved it!! Thank you Akti beach club!!
Stayed at Akti Bech in the last week of the season. Really can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly cleaned. There’s something for everyone here, a busy pool with music and a number of other quieter pools All the staff worked so hard and are a credit to the hotel, particularly Varna who made a real fuss of my grandson she was brilliant I would definitely recommend Akti Beach and we’re already looking at booking again next year Absolutely superb in such difficult circumstances, well done to all the staff
After two holidays been cancelled the week before. We went to the akti beach club on the 10th oct. Lovely hotel and grounds. We stayed in a masionette just in front of the pool with the activities on. Staff were brilliant. From the reception. Restaurant. Bar and shop staff. They were lovely in the restaurant. Food was lovely. Really enjoyed the break. Well done x
Nice to Get Away
After our planned trip to Lanzarote was cancelled and our subsequent booking to Turkey was also cancelled, we booked this hotel at short notice. It is probably fair to say that in normal times we wouldn’t have made the choice to book the Akti Beach Club for a holiday. However overall we were satisfied with our time here although not impressed enough to consider this in the future. The hotel is a short trip from the airport, approximately 25 minutes. Upon arrival to the hotel, checking in did not take too long and contrary to what we had read we did not find the receptionists to be particularly unfriendly. We paid the necessary room tax and 20 euros for the safe in the room for our 5 day stay. We did not feel obliged to pay for the Wi-Fi as we thought this was both expensive and an unexpected extra holiday cost. We were allocated room 905, this is a ground floor room and one of the many within the hotel that has the benefit of a shared pool. This had a small terrace area with a table and two chairs, it also has 2 loungers just outside the terrace and next to the pool. The room had all the facilities expected and the minibar was refilled every morning. We did feel that the cleanliness of the room was a little disappointing and we didn’t consider a thorough effort had been made at anytime whilst we were there. An example of this would be that a filled ashtray from a previous occupier was left on the outside table and not emptied during our entire stay. It is perhaps a little ironic that we were being chased out of the room by the cleaner at 9AM on the day of our departure when the check-out time is 11AM The hotel has two main pools, one of which is for the daytime activities, neither of these appeared to be crowded whilst we were there. In addition each of these pool areas have a pool for small children and there is a further pool with slides near to the activity pool. Both of the pool areas are served with their own bar, with the one by the activity pool also serving daytime snacks. We didn’t feel that at anytime we had to wait a considerable time to be served at either of these bars, however perhaps more staff would have helped in maintaining clean tables especially in these Covid times. There is another snack bar by the beach, however this is a fairly soulless place. You will be far better for walking the extra few steps to go to the beach bar at the adjacent Akti Palace. The main restaurant again we did not find too busy whilst we were there. You need to find your table first and then one of the members of the waiting staff bring over your cutlery and ask if you would like a drink. The food is not self-service, I think we preferred this, as it appeared to be more orderly and you didn’t get to the baked beans just after someone else had dropped the serving spoon in the tray. We had no complaints with any of the food that was provided or with any of the service in the restaurant. There is not much on offer in the vicinity of the hotel, the beach is quite narrow it is sandy although this is coarse and there are rocky areas within the sea. There are a couple of supermarkets / shops near the hotel, should you need these. The walk to Kardamena is about 45 minutes each way along the beach road, this road is not busy but is unlit so not suitable for night times. There are a couple of snack bars along the route should you need refreshment. Overall, we did have a good break, the weather for the 3rd week in October was quite good with temperatures reaching around 26C.
