Lækkert men ikke 5 stjernet

Personalet i receptionen var meget venlig og vi blev tjekket ind og de tilbød os en gratis drink. De fleste af hotellets personale var yderst hjælpsomme og høflige. Vores værelse var en suite uden havudsigt. Det var på siden af hotellet der var en del støj fra deres affalds område, hvor de larmede med skraldespande flere gange i døgnet. Dagen efter fik vi et andet værelse på den anden side af hotellet, hvor der var sol på altanen om eftermiddagen, hvilket var fantastisk om aftenen. Suiten var ok men ikke særlig stor. Sengen var behagelige og Værelserne blev rengjort hver dag. Værelset var "lidt spansk", føntørre og sæbe holder faldt ned fra væggen, sad fast med dobbelt klæbende tape :-( Kun 2 engelsksproget programmer på tv. Pool-området var meget godt. Udmærket størrelse pool med masser af solbadning. Masser af liggestole omkring poolen . Stranden er tæt på via en kort vej fra pool området. Restaurant var god og aldrig virkede til at have for travlt. Masser af muligheder i morgen buffet Playa de Muro er forholdsvis roligt og væk fra det værste "turist sted" i selve Alcudia. Hotellets beliggenhed er ideel til stranden, som er den væsentligste del af feriestedet, der er en lokal bus der kører forbi forbi hotellet hver 15 min.. Kort sagt, er hotellet et godt hotel med venligt personale og en rigtig god beliggenhed. Hotellet står som et 5-stjernet hotel, men 4 havde nok været mere passende.

Perfekt til afslappende ferie

Super super perfekt beliggende hotel hvor alt bare fungere og så lige ned til dejlig strand, væk fra den værste turisme og i gåafstand fra super strandrestaurant med dejlig udsigt og ikke for varmt er sommeraften.

Nice location

Hotel is located approximately 45 minutes’ drive from PMI airport in the north of the island. It is adjacent to a row of hotels facing the beach of “platja de Muro”. Free parking. Big, high entrance “Las Vegas style” when walking to the friendly reception. (hand sanitizer mandatory in the spacious entrance hall and one is mandated to wear mouth covering masks all over the hotel premises). Quick check-in and we get our suite on the third floor with sea-view. Entrance hall, separate living room, separate bedroom with 2 beds and walk-in wardrobe. (the ladies happy). Air-condition (worked very well) in both separate rooms and individual to adjust. Mini fridge (empty), safe, tv, couch, second wardrobe, sound bar, double balcony with table and chairs, blackout curtains, light spots and enough wall sockets to charge all electronics. Bathroom full equipped with everything that is to expect to be in a bathroom. Free beach/pool towels, daily cleaning. Staff is driven to carefully follow the Covis-19 regulations. Wearing mouth covering masks at any time, everywhere. The breakfast room is –as always in Spain- not very well atmospheric decorated and how hard they try; it still looks like a large bare basement space. With the right color scheme and some better decoration, it will look totally different and more inviting. The food was ok considering the Covid-19 precautions. Kind of open buffet but everything was handed over by employees. The pool area looks nice and absolute plus is the entrance to the beach. Are there any negative points? Yes, the pool itself has had its best day. Tiles are loose or have holes. A lot of wear and tear. This in fact applies for the whole hotel. It for sure has signs of wear and tear. When booking the hotel, I booked as well a plate of fresh fruit and some Iberico ham. Expected it to be in the room when arriving. However, had to ask for it twice -a couple of days after check-in- before it finally was delivered in my room. (even the hotel manager was involved) Room service is expensive considering the quality of food delivered. (and almost cold). In short, a good hotel with signs of wear and tear sign. Not really the 5* as they claim to be (I travel a lot worldwide work-related and know the different between a real 5* and hotels that claim to be). The price per night is quit high for what they deliver. Nevertheless, it is a good hotel on a nice location with the ambition to please the guest and try to deliver to a high standard. (which they do not yet fulfill).

An ageing 4* hotel

Having reviewed the hotels website and considering the price, we thought we were in for a bit of luxury. Marketed as a luxury hotel with some very nice images. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s not a lot wrong with the hotel, but it’s just not what we would call luxury. I imagine that when the hotel was built, it was a 5*. But as the years of gone by its clearly started to show signs of wear and tear. It’s one of those “insta vs reality” scenarios. Imagine the feeling of turning up at a BMW showroom to collect your brand new car and it turns out to be a 5 year old one with 50,000 on the clock - it was that type of feeling. Still a good car, but not quite what you thought you were getting.... I’d give the foyer and cleanliness 5* Very impressive as you walk in, very grand. Although dated, everywhere is clean and C19 friendly. The rooms and staff 4* Rooms are showing signs of ageing and a lot of the furniture is chipped. All the staff, behind their Covid masks, seem to be smiley, polite and efficient. The rest of the building, canteen a 3* + Again, showing it’s age and there is no ambiance at all in the canteen (reluctant to call it a restaurant) the food is ok with decent choice but mainly luke warm. If you “eat to live” you may very well enjoy this however, if you “live to eat” you might find that once is enough. It only cost us an extra £100 over all (4 nights) to go half board so was a risk worth taking but one that didn’t really pay off. And the pool area a 3* (€30 a day for a daybed) Full of kids, no available sunbeds, hotel charging for day beds, reminded me of the pool area from TV series “Benidorm”.... we’d booked here for 4 nights of relative luxury and paid £700 + £100 for half board. After checking in and going to the pool area, we felt extremely underwhelmed. Our notion of sitting round the pool and enjoying our surroundings for a few days was shot. I could see the disappointment on my wife’s face so I said “im going to go and ask for a refund and we can go back to the last hotel” (OD Portals (£100pn) and was excellent) I was very polite in explaining that there was nothing bad, but it wasn’t what we expected, and although under the terms she was unable to refund us, she did upgrade us to what is probably the best room in the hotel which, I think was a nice and understanding gesture. In other news, they forgot to put towels in our room, the aircon doesn’t get lower than 23 degrees which they kept telling us they were trying to sort but just couldn’t (we didn’t sleep a wink), the toilet doesn’t flush properly and the window cleaner starts banging about at 7am and waking people up. But other than that, it’s been a good stay lol. If you like half-board package holidays at 3*+ - 4* hotels in Spanish holiday resorts, you’ll probably love it here so should book however, if you are looking for that touch or luxury, you’re £200pn can be better spent elsewhere. If this was pitched as a standard 4* hotel, was £100 a night and the aircon worked properly, I’d probably give it a really good review. PS. The restaurant next door to the hotel is 5* and fairly priced.

Great hotel on the beach.

We visited this hotel at the end of July and cannot fault it, yes I agree with some of the previous reviews concerning parts of the hotel looking a bit tired, but the positives far outweigh these cosmetic issues. The staff are exceptional and worked so hard to make our stay as safe as possible. The room was nice and clean, air con was a godsend for us. Food was varied and good quality, I don’t understand people complaining about food not being hot....who wants to eat a hot dinner when the temperature is over 30 degrees is beyond me. This is a lovely hotel that’s a bit tired around the edges, if you want to stay on the beach, eat lovely food and be looked after by wonderful staff, this is the place for you.
