Lovely and calm resort, that more than lived up to our expectations.

Vh. H. Harder

Fantastic Relaxing Stay

We stayed the week before Xmas and had a fantastic holiday. We had one bedroom suite with large lounge. The beds were comfortable but sadly the double was two separate beds pushed together and made as individual beds. The lounge had comfortable sofa and chair, large wardrobe & safe. Large TV with BBC and ITV. There was a minibar with complimentary soft drinks and a small bottle of bubbly (nice touch). Coffee machine & pods also kettle & teabags. There was also chocolates on arrival and every night more chocolates given to us by maid each night. The final night we were out and had the full turn down service. There are comfy chairs on the terrace. The bathroom was nice although there is flaw in design and the shower sprays out into the mat. Lovely toiletries. We were near the pool which was delightfully warm. We were on half board and ate most mornings at Terra Sana restaurant - amazing choice. In the evening we ate here most nights again good selection but buffet food often Luke warm. I would recommend the freshly cooked items. Staff really friendly. The spa large and lovely steam room. Included in Royal level. Nice location by the beach and near local resort shops & restaurant.

Return visit

We stayed at the Royal Level for the second time this year. We had room 2024 this time which was in an excellent position on the end of the row and we had sun on the terrace all day. The only disappointing thing was that our room had no kitchen area whereas the room we had in February did. We did have a kettle and mugs but no proper fridge to keep milk, just the small minibar. We were unable to make snacks to take to the beach and as we stayed on a bed & breakfast basis this would have been useful. Other than that the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and we will definitely request this room again next time we stay. Since our previous visit the hotel has introduced daytime entertainment which is not something we like. We come on holiday to relax by the pool not play games. Thankfully the Royal level pool was very quiet with no more than 8-10 people round it at most so we weren’t bothered by any noisy entertainment. There was someone singing by the main pool one day when we were passing which would have made us leave rather quickly had we been sitting round it! The breakfast buffet was excellent once again and the staff super friendly and helpful as were the reception staff. One more small negative… the shop that was next to reception in February is no longer there and the small shop behind reception has hardly any food items which meant a long walk for any shopping we needed. All in all though we had a great holiday and look forward to returning, hopefully later this year.

Fuerteventura in december with family

It is hard to go back to hotel rooms without an outdoor jacuzzi after trying it at Barcelo Royal level Family. Room had a unique setup with the bathroom in the middle but we got used to it. :-) The service was excellent - reception are quick to respons to all our queries and request. Seemless check in and check out. Valuable assistance when we needed a doctor and taxi to the airport. I was just a bit disappointed with the house wines i tried at the buffet restaurants so maybe better to go over and pick from the winelist instead. Otherwise, lovely, comfy stay.

Could be perfect…

We’ve just returned from a week at the royal level family club. We really enjoyed our week but our stay unfortunately wasn’t perfect. The quiet family club part of the resort is really well appointed, right on the coast, when we went it wasn’t full, which meant there were loads of sun loungers to choose from. We stayed in a sea view junior suite and it was really well appointed, lovely modern decor, and a sunny but small balcony. On arrival we were greeted with chocolates and a bottle of cava (anniversary) and a fully stocked mini bar (that isn’t replenished) but tea, coffee and water is daily (ask for milk at the pool bar if you need it). We were also given robes, slippers and fresh towels every day. The mattress is super comfy, 3 pillows to choose from and x 2 large tv screens with BBC 1, ITV and Channel 4. The sun beds are super comfy there, the animation staff do x 3 classes/games a day which breaks the day up and the staff were great at the pool bar, just a shame the food offering is so limited with just Pringles or cheese and ham toasties to eat. In the afternoon we’d take a wonder to the marina for ice cream at the parlour which is included in an AI package. The app is good, we checked in and out on it (which I’d recommend doing as waiting times at the reception desk can be long) and helps to explain what’s open and how to get there. We were royal level all inclusive so could go anywhere in the resort that we wanted. The Al Canta restaurant was just across the road, beautiful setting and good service, great choice of wine but food was repetitive. We had our one ala carte meal at the Asian, Hakana, below, which was dreadful, strange service and two choices of starters and mains and one dessert. The sushi and salad were really disappointing and the mains were totally underwhelming, just glad we didn’t have to pay extra for it! We didn’t even stay for the dessert the wait between courses were so long. Such a shame as setting and decor was so lovely. The show bar is also on the marina, entertainment is at 9 most nights, some better than other. Unfortunately the cocktail bar, el Faro at the end of the pier was closed and so was the ala carte Italian for the duration of our stay. We also had access to the Royal Level adults only section as we are a couple with no children. The pool is lovely, with cabanas to lounge in, but was much busier than the family club area so we didn’t bother sunbathing there. We did try the Terra Sana restaurant one night but the food offering was even worse with cold chicken, frozen (yes frozen!) sweetcorn and veal/ rabbit to choose from. They do serve better lunch here though, with an attractive bar menu that includes pasta, salad and club sandwiches (which unfortunately were burnt and the fries raw). We did complain at the time about these issues but they were never followed up. The absolute highlight though was the Terra Sana cocktail bar. Big should out to Alexandra and her colleague (sorry didn’t catch his name!) who make the most amazing cocktails, with table service, we made our way down most of the list, most evenings we caught some entertainment there too, including a DJ and an amazing singer/ violinist Eva. You can also catch entertainment too in the green lobby at the main large hotel. There are looked after stray cats around the resort who are lovely, and African hedgehogs and chipmunks just round the bay. The spa is good and I had a 30 min back massage which was £31 and well worth the money. There’s not too much to do outside of the resort, we did do a dolphin safari on one day, but we were crammed on a fishing boat and was £90 for 2 of us, not really value for money. All in all, the resort could be incredible. They just need to listen to feedback and offer more hot food. The proximity to the airport is good. Only £15 and 15 mins in a taxi.
