Hotellet er meget enestående. Belligende højt over byen med en smuk udsigt over havnen og byen. Indgangen er en efterligning af 2 gamle kirker med stille orgelmusik. Kunstig vandfald inden i hotellet. Flere hyggelige steder at sidde og nyde en drink eller en øl. Koster lidt mere, men det er ganske ok i dette Ambiente.
Great hotel and wonderful staff
We have just had our first holiday with our 8 month old boy and the hotel couldn’t have been more accommodating to us all. The staff have been wonderful, food fabulous and the room was perfect. Would highly recommend The Volcan and we will definitely be coming back 😊
Visit with my elderly mother
Good points: Very unusual and striking hotel very clever architecture, so it doesn’t feel as large as it really is. great location and the room we were allocated was on the ground floor with easy access to the restaurant, pool and gate out to the marina. The room was quite good with comfortable beds, a sitting room and very pleasant sheltered patio overlooking a garden. The bathroom was a complete pain and definitely not 5* as the shower leaked with loads of water on the floor as the screen didn’t fit. In fairness when I complained they installed a shower curtain but it still didn’t really work. We stayed as half board the salads were exceptional, fabulous choice Staff ( with the exception of the reception) were very pleasant, hardworking and friendly Had a very good massage great staff, but again the massage bed had had splits in the plastic with the foam showing. Not very 5* Down side The usual problems with a buffet poor breakfast choices and anything cooked on the evening buffet dinner or breakfast was either inedible or cold The room though comfortable was not really 5* and felt a little tired and in need of redecoration I know we are out of season but the lack of access to the a la Carte Restarant and the average quality of the food when you did get there was disappointing My main complaint was the complete absent of anything in the evening the “pub” was average and the only bar that seemed to open. The pool bar food was only sandwiches which were expensive and cold. Would I stay again? Yes but only for a room I think they really need to up their game to hang on to a 5* just about a 4* at best Karen dowman
A lovely location
Having previously emailed to request a room near to amenities we were happy to find the room was exactly that, although a tad dark and a little tired there was lots of lighting, storage and a pretty view. The rooms were kept clean and linen was immaculate. Constant hot for the shower. Food was very varied and plentiful and we also ate in the Italian restaurant one evening, a meal we enjoyed.Spoilt for choice with the swimming pools and plenty of sun beds ( though you sometimes have to hunt them down , as we found pools and beds we didn't know about halfway through our stay , that was our fault as maps of hotel provided) My husband made good use of the gym. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Only negative was the evening entertainment which was not really our cup of tea partly due to the fact that there was 2 different forms going on in the adjacent rooms at the same time and could hear both ! also the instrumentals overpowered the singing, the exception to this were the 3 male singers who sang a mix of modern and opera, absolutely fantastic.. The couple working behind the bar were great, always greeted and served us with a smile. Would we return ? Yes definitely.
We expected a five star hotel, not expecting Ritz or Savoy standard but this was at best 3 star. The position of the Volcan was good, the staff were very friendly and cheerful but only evident at breakfast time, very few at other times. Bars were very limited when they were open, at best only two at any one time and spirits were expensive. The cleaners were very efficient and cheerful . However there are plenty of far better, less expensive hotels on the island. Would we go again? Not a hope, a great dissapointment.
