Excellent Hotel a short walk from Downtown

This was a hotel substitute from our Tour but did not dissapoint. At first it seemed a ways from town but only 5 minutes and you're at the edge of town with a good grocery store where you can pick up Beer and Wine for a night cap. Of course no one goes to Santorini to say in their hotel room an we kept busy walking the narrow streets and even took the bus from the main terminal to Oia for the famous sunset ritual. Our room was big and bright and there were nice pools if you wanted to chill out in the afternoon sun. The included Breakfast was great and the lounge was not overpriced. We did tours on our own but you could book them through the hotel also.

Great Location

I loved this hotel; it was in a great location- right on the caldera, and about a 10 minute walk to all the shopping, restaurants and views you can handle! The staff were friendly and helpful- the room was clean and a good size. Breakfast buffet was included and had a variety of hot and cold selections. They have 5 pools to choose from so that was nice. The Spa is gorgeous and I enjoyed my salt scrub and massage. I will definately stay here again on my next trip.!

Great stay late in the season

We stayed at the El Greco Oct 27-29 and had a great time. Our room (21) was in the lowest part of the hotel so a bit of a walk back up the hill to the lobby but at this time of year the hotel was really quiet and the room was great. The pools all through the resort are lovely although a bit chilly in late October. The front desk staff were really helpful and gladly tried to help with our various questions. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from Fira so close enough but not in the middle of the madness. The breakfast was great (bacon daily!). One day, we watched the two bell boys deal with a large arriving group of guest and boy did they hustle (and sweat). All in all I would highly recommend!

Resort is great, room not so good. Lucky you spend most of your time in town or around pool area.

We stayed in a standard room in the middle of summer and it was way down the back of the hotel.Room was OK, but quite small. No tea/coffee facilities. You can buy coffee at the pool bar.. Pool bar also serves meals at lunch time and the ones we had were great. Be prepared to wait for a while though. We waited approx 15 just to put an order in, very busy and it seems that only one waiter takes orders. There was one waitress but she just seems to stand around not doing much. There are 5 pool areas at this resort but due to the amount of rooms there, most of the chairs around pools are taken by 10am. We also ate dinner in at the restaurant and this was also great, faster service from the restaurant. Breakfast was buffet style and it was great, everything you could think of. It was about a 15 min walk to the Old Town and other restaurants.

El Greco Resort and Spa

We stayed at El Greco Resort and Spa for three nights. Very beautiful hotel. The room was very spacious and clean. The only item missing was an iron, which would have been nice. Really enjoyed the view overlooking one of their many pools. The food was great, lots to choose from I would definitely recommend travelers to stay at El Greco, while visiting Santorini.
