If it wasn't for the surroundings,,,
The island of Limnos with everything it offers deserves four points. Minus – no public transportation whatsoever. The location of Villa Victoria in the bay of Platy at the beach & sea is very acceptable. The concept of small villas surrounded by greenery and practically on the beach is interesting. The so-called stone villas have inside wooden stairs leading up to the space with a double bed – caution needed. The whole place is pleasantly quiet at night, and the area is quite clean. As for cleaning the rooms – in 8 days we got it cleaned twice, ok. But the garbage should be taken out daily! The sheets & towels were also changed once. The ground floor was washed twice but the upstairs floor wasn’t swept at all! Funny thing – the rolls of toilet paper are hidden in a small closed behind a big oval mirror in the bathroom. How should one know where to look? The kids playground is ok & spacious. A plus is that guests can walk around as if staying in a camp – very casually. All the rest deserves only/hardly two points. The food is, let’s say, eatable and portions are big. Self-service breakfast is average but with bad artificial juices and tasteless ham. For dinner, which is being served, one of two menus can be chosen a day earlier. Greek salad is served everyday, with prevailing cucumbers and no oil and vinegar. Dessert is miniature or non-existent. There was a guest who doesn’t eat meat and asked to be served something without meat, or possibly a larger portion of salad. He didn’t find understanding of the staff as if he requested God knows what. The pool is available only from noon till 6 p.m. Probably because the sunbeds at the pool must be free of charge. So we come to the worst thing - the price of sunbeds of 10 euros per day for hotel guests, no drinks included. The prices of all items at the beach bar are much higher than at the beach bars on the right and left. Also, the price of air condition of 3 euros per day is too much. Luckily the position of our room was so good we didn’t need it. The only thing free of charge was calling a taxi that usually arrived to the reception within 10 minutes. We have no serious complaints on the behavior of the staff, but the lady owner’s philosophy of treating her own guests is inapprehensible – she’s tempting them to go to other parts of the beach. We are leaving to the readers to reach their own opinion & decision. Ours is – Limnos by all means, accommodation disputable.
Terrible service, weird annoying rules
We stayed in this hotel for 12 days with my family. Food was not very good, only like 3 meals out of 12 were tasty. Some meals really terrible, cold etc. Breakfast - there was no fresh fruit or veggies, no fresh sweet pastry or something like that. Juice just some synthetic something. Boiled eggs, tea, coffee, bread, butter, honey, disgusting sausage and "ham", cheese. They cleaned the room twice in 12 days, but not very well. Just changed sheets and wiped the floor in the middle. Wouldn't wash shower, sinks or floor under stairs. Took out the trash every 2 days. AC coats 3€ for a night but even if you decide to use it in the half of your stay, they make you pay for all the days you stayed in the hotel - in our case 12 nights. Umbrellas and beds on the beach from 10 to 20€ a day. Terrible price! Prices at the bar also higher than anywhere else. Mean staff, wouldn't let you to take anything that was not bought at their bar on the beach or anywhere in the areal - bottle of water or fruit - no. Crazy. Pool opened only 12 to 18h. Besides this beach is very nice, clean, fine-grained yellow sand. Would recommend different hotel at this beach! 2,5 star hotel.
I spent 14 days at Villa Victoria with my family. We all had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cabin/apartment we stayed in was clean and spacious. The beach was so close. Our two boys had so much fun spending their days at the beach from early morning to evening. They were happy ordering the yummy food from the bar. We will definitely be booking to go to Villa Victoria again. Thanks for a wonderful holiday experience. Edwin and family from Australia 🇦🇺
We will return
We stayed here on our second trip to Lemnos and we are so glad we did. Vivi was very pleasant and easy to deal with. She was so very helpful in helping us retrieve one of our cell phones that we had left in Athens hotel lobby and had it couriered to us at the Villa. Our room was literally feet from the beach. The crystal clear water even enticed me to get some beach time in and trust me, I'm no beach person but it was irresistible. Room was cleaned and tidied up every day, A/C worked great and bed was super comfy. We visited early in the season so the staff was very busy everyday getting thing ready for the summer crowds. This is a small scale operation owned and operated by family for decades it is not a mega resort owned operation. We prefer to stay at B&B's and smaller family places and we like the personal treatment we get at them. If your looking for a more homey experience then I highly recommend you give Villa Victoria a try. We will return hopefully in 2018 and will definitely be returning. Vivi, thank you for all your help in making our trip as great as we could have expected. We hope your family is well, can't wait to come back!
Really unprofessional behaviour....
We visited Villa Victoria at the end of July 2016 with the best expectations but sadly we were very disappointed when we got there. During previous communication with the owner of the villa she had sent us photos of the room that we booked. Although you had to walk down a few stairs in order to reach the rooms it looked clean and its balcony cozy. The main reason we selected the specific hotel was because of the huge playground full of toys that was shown in their website and considered it would be great for our kid. The room smelled really bad due to a problem with the bathroom....You could nearly enter into the bathroom and it was impossible to bath your 3 year old into that tiny space... The room was dirty. Really DIRTY. The cozy balcony that we sat for 2 hours or less had cushions that were ripped off.... We even found on the sofa at the balcony some toenails (seems someone had pedicure a while ago...) And moreover when I went outside I faced the "playground"... A big space with ripped green carpet and a few broken and dirty plastic toys abandoned ... It was a true disappointment..... and it ruined our 1st day at the island. The lady-owner told me that she could not do anything for the problems I pointed out to her since the bath had some problem and the photos on the website were published 8 years ago....She told me she would find me another accommodation but she didn't and guess what?... When I moved out from her hotel (just a few hours later) I asked her to return me half of the deposit I had pay her 2 months (40% of the whole stay!!) ago and of course she refused. Not to mention I never got any receipt for the money I paid .... Really TRAGIC experience. Pls stay away. People with this kind of behavior do not deserve to be called professionals.
