A lovely holiday! Thank you!
My partner and I have recently got home from staying at this hotel. I was VERY apprehensive after reading the reviews and even considered chasing the hotel last minute to the mare boutique or something else. I’m glad I didn’t!!!! I think peoples expectations are too high. For the price you pay for this hotel, and the fact the Georgioupolis is avery very small little town, you can’t exoect it to be like 4 start hotels in turkey/egypt/Caribbean. If that’s what you looking for, spend much more and go elsewhere, simple. The hires private beach beds are literally right outside the hotel and there are plenty of them meaning you don’t have to race down at 8am to save a spot, and is a quick trip to the bar. I have stayed in many all inclusive and would actually say the food was one of the best, plenty of choice, and it varied daily. I didn’t find it he food cold, it was just the right temperature; who wants a hot plate of bangers and mash when it’s been 27 degrees all day?? Our room was very nice, Monday and clean. It smelt slightly of damp the first 2 days but after having the air on on and the window open when we were getting ready for dinner, it went very quickly. The staff were lovely, especially the female on reception and those working in the restaurant/bar. The only negatives I would say are: 1. The drink selection for all inclusive is limited (1 loval beer which isn’t as nice a mythos, white wine, red wine, 3 cocktails, soft drinks, etc). The 3 cocktails are just vodka with soda and grenadine. You have to pay extra for proper cocktails or alternatives like mojito, strawberry daiquiri, mythos, and rose. 2. The seating area isn’t enough for the amount of people that stay there. We’re we’re ok for most of the holiday as it was quiet. But towards the end when more people started arriving (and at this point wasn’t busy), and you’d have to stand around waiting for a table for breakfast and dinner. We actually ended up eating in our room on the last night, but our room was right by the restaurant so we didn’t mind that much. 3. A couple had a violent domestic at 2am in the morning and police attended. Had it of been in the Uk the male would have been arrested - however appears things are very different in Greece. They supposedly have security on in the night but when I went and spoke to reception, they had no idea about the incident, or police bing there. That is Poe communication to me as it was so loud it could be heard for miles. Even our taxi driver to the airport the next days heard it, and he doesn’t even live next door. I raised it to staff as many of us thought he was going to push her over the balcony or kill her, and before I realised what it actually was, I just had doors banging, men shouting in a foreign language and females screaming, so at first I was scared someone had gone on site and was storming hotel rooms. However, despite how scary the incident was, the couple woke up the next morning, and were sat around the pool drinking again all day like nothing has happened. I think the hotel could have dealt with this poorly. They could have spoken to guests, identified them and I believe, for the safety of the women and the other guests, he should have been told to leave, or not have been allowed to d just consume as much alcohol as he likes. However, all in all we had a very enjoyable trip and I feel it was worth what we paid. If you like lying by the beach as much as we do, you will like this hotel, as that really is their selling point. I don’t know many hotels in small town like this that have their own beach area, right in front of the hotel, with nice proper wooden sun beds for the price of £500/550pp.
I recently stayed at Mare Blue & Suites, a new hotel located on the beautiful beach of Georgioupolis village.
The location was perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff. Katerina, who worked in the breakfast area, was especially polite and helpful. The breakfast itself was delicious and featured a variety of options to suit our preferences. The rooms were modern and beautifully decorated, and they were kept sparkling clean throughout our stay. One amazing experience we had was when a lovely singer from England serenaded us with her beautiful voice. It was a unique experience that we'll never forget.
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish
This new boutique hotel is situated right on the beach and provides a perfect gateway to the crystal-clear waters. The rooms are sparkling clean and quite new, and they certainly didn't disappoint. It was nice to have everything in an orderly fashion with the added benefits of a comfortable bed, plenty of storage, and a comfortable balcony to enjoy the views. The wooden sunbeds definitely caught my eyes for their comfort and aesthetic beauty. The staff was very attentive and did everything to ensure we had a comfortable stay. I must commend Joanna, the bartender who made amazig and significant cocktails with her expertise skills.
Dusappointing
The problems we had with this hotel were really caused by the rain We had a wet gloomy grey week with thunderstorms This affected the internet , the TV and the lack of hot water. There is no lobby and the eating area is outside ! So you’re eating in the rain. The staff are friendly and helpful but I wouldn’t return not in May anyway . Nobody can predict the weather but the hotel is not set up for rainy days Nice little village to walk too and the hotel is well situated next to the beach It would be a totally different holiday had the weather been better Choice of all inclusive drinks is not good and I think all watered down!
Nice room, otherwise poor
The only decent thing at the hotel was the room- very clean, big and modern. No issues with hot water or toilet etc. We were all inclusive, however ate out of the hotel 5/7 nights due to how poor it was. The food was cold, wouldn’t be much of an issue if I wasn’t pregnant, it was also very repetitive and bland. On the first night we watched the waiting staff offer every other table drinks, but avoid us, this doesn’t feel great when your mixed race:/ The dining area is right next to the pool so no one ever used it, as if you did you’d have a bunch of strangers gawping at you in your swimwear. The offer of soft drinks and alcoholic on all inclusive was extremely poor and limited - watered down coke, orange juice and apple juice on offer, but if you wanted a fruit mix you had to pay €3.50!!! The town had a cute little square with nice restaurants and vibe but I would not return to this hotel. It is not value for money.
