Good hotel for families with children

My husband and I stayed in this hotel towards the end of August and the beginning of September. The hotel was very busy in August, most of guests were families with children- that meant lots of noise during the day and mess during the breakfast time. The atmosphere has changed quite a lot in the second week of September when the hotel was occupied mostly by adults ( the season ends in the 3rd or 3th week of September). Positives: the place is clean and spacious, the hotel staff are very helpful. The shuttle bus will take you to the beach whenever you want (up until 7pm) so no set times for drop off or pick up which is great. Free sunbeds at the Elysium part of the beach. Food ordered from the menu in the evening was very nice. Negatives: breakfast buffet offers the same variety of food on a daily basis with very little moderation so if you are going to stay a little bit longer you may get bored with the choice. The hotel rents part of the Dhermi beach, the beach is always busy and you will be lucky to get the front row seats. The seats are located next to a bar which very often plays loud music (felt like I was in Ibiza). The hotel has 5 starts in the logo but it is not a 5 star hotel- there is no gym (although they have a basketball/volleyball court), no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Buffet breakfast also not up to the 5 star standard, limited toiletries in the bathroom, the room is clean and functional but not luxurious. Now a little bit about Dhermi: the beach is packed with sunbeds, packed in like sardines. Private beaches will have 5-6 rows of sunbeds so you will hardly see any sea. If you do not want to stay at the Elysium part, you will have to pay between 1000-5000 lek per day for two sun loungers and an umbrella. The beach is quite long, but there are hardly any quiet places - every few hundred meters you have a beach bar and they usually play loud music (we visited Drymades beach one day and it was even worse). The beach is not overlooked by tall buildings so it gives you a sense of relaxation to same extent. The water is clean and warm but the beach is covered with pebbles so you need to bring aqua shoes otherwise it can be a challenge to get in and out of the water. Forget about long walks on the beach in the evening with dipping your feet in the water, your feet will sink in the pebbles and it is like walking sand dunes. With hindsight, I wish we rented a car and could explore beaches that were less crowded. Restaurants: there are lots of restaurants to choose from but they all serve a very similar menu : seafood, risotto, steak, pasta- ok if you are visiting just for a few days.

Best hotel in Albania

We were staying at Elysium hotel for 4 nights in July. We were traveling through Albanian coast and this was the best hotel we've been to. The rooms are clean, they have beautiful garden and a playground for kids. The pool area is also very clean and lovely. If you want to go to the beach, there is a shuttle bus waiting for you all the time. The staff was friendly and breakfast was delicious! I hope we'll be back soon!

Second time here and loved it again!

A big hotel with great service at the front desk. The staff is very welcoming!! Rooms are good and very well cleaned. Impressed by the cleaning staff so we left some tip in the room on check out day. The pool is big and a part of it is for small children wich means a LOT of families coming here and there is NO peace and quiet around the pool. If you would like to have a calm and peaceful time at the pool, come in the morning. The families start there day at the beach and from lunch and until pool closes at 19:00 there will be a lively time here. The bar plays good music and serves good drinks. Transfer to the beach is a great plus for this hotel since the hotel is far up the steep hill from the beach.

One of the best hotels in Dhermi

My fiancee and I decided to try this place mostly because it has great reviews. And it did not disappoint. We stayed for 6 nights and I can say that we had a true 5-star experience. Highly recommend it.
